You not only levelup faster than SWSH w/o candies but also have the shittiest trainer battles, raging from common trainer classes to evil team bosses, gym leaders, E4 and even champion Diantha. And I won't even mention rivals, as all of the 4 were inferior Hops with 12yo existential crisis that end up going nowhere other than cheering you. XY was a cakewalk due to the fact that you acquire Mega Evolution at the end of your early game (3rd gym) while no gym leader uses it until post-game, by the time you face Lysandre's Mega Gyarados you're already overlevel enough to cheese it and the rest of the game (you can even solo the game with Mega Lucario blindfold).
