>>21833618>The only problem in your logic is that ORAS didn't have to reinvent the franchise, it's a remake.Reasonable argument, but let's consider what follows to shed some light here.
>Did HGSS bring anything redeemable to the franchise? Everything was mediocre, including the pokemon that followed you, pokewalker, pokeathlon, every one of those things were just novelties for the sake of making that particular game more funUmmm... yes. This is EXACTLY what i mean. HGSS didn't NEED these things to be included for it to be a good game, but they help to make the game become BETTER.
Let's put it this way: Let's say that you like visiting this cool restaurant because they make some great steak. You order it all the time, and one of your favorite parts is that though the menu only mentions the steak, you also get offered an equally delicious Baked Potato and a sumptuous side-salad; all for a neat $12.99.
Now imagine going back and all of the sudden when you order a steak, all you get is that, the steak. It's just as good as it was before, and it costs the same too, but now you're wishing that it also had that delicious baked potato on its side, and that awesome side salad too. Your main course is still great, but the overall plate is not as great as it could've been.
This is exactly the problem with ORAS. It didn't have to reinvent the wheel, it just had no reason to skimp on the added content that elevated it from a mere Great Steak to a full Great Meal.
I went through the task of piling a list of reasons X/Y improved a lot on its predecessors. Mind indulging me on what drags it so far down?
I'll list a few of them. Let's tally it up and see why X/Y are a disgrace to humanity.
>Poor optimization, ergo, framerate problems.>Interesting Criminal team in concept, very poor in execution>Stupid amount of "rivals" made it so none of them stood out particularlyI'm trying to point out objective flaws in it. I'm sure it has a couple more problems. Care to add?
