>>45138675If I reneged on not having multiple sprites for every puppet it'd be easy to retrofit due to the power of the Polished engine; I just don't think it's really necessary given how few characters have major design changes, you'd either just have the same characters in different poses or you'd have to start using fanon stuff which isn't my style for the most part. I am down for a handful of characters getting alt sprites independent of their forme though; Marisa in particular I'd love to make the game's Unown, since she changes her outfit at least a little bit in every game she's in and occasionally changes it a lot (Reimu also changes a lot but it's much more subtle so I'd probably just have regular Reimu and PC-98 Reimu as an alt).
>similar direction like in Hopeless MasqueradeThe end goal of the Moriya Shrine idea is that the gods are using you to bring them faith
though it'd absolutely go off the rails around the midway point with either the player going against their wishes or them abandoning you, forcing the player to go on their own and make new allies while other interests still want you taken care of due to the incident factor, but prior to deciding on that idea as the best one I was considering something closer to HM; for it to be meaningful I think you'd have to be able to choose a side though, and the branching paths would increase the scope of such a hack too much for me. I do think an idea to consider is that several other factions like the Buddhists and Taoists each get their own protagonist too, allowing for several recurring rivals that aren't beholden to Touhou canon.
