Turns out Crasher can't stand up to a Raichu with Grass Knot. Got a pichu at the Trophy Garden in preparation and spent a couple days grinding up happiness till it evolved, taught it grass knot and leveled up off quagsires and Gyarados, but got impatient and just went in at level 33, Dynamo easily swept through his whole team, with only Floatzel actually getting an attack in.
On my way to more plot, more friends and the steel gym, so need to level up spot and maybe Rohirrim to hopefully just roflstomp him.
