Pic related and Tentacruel are godsends, sure their Basic Pokemon (? that's what they're called in the TCG, at least) forms are annoying because they're literally everywhere but design wise they're really cool as final evos.
They're also great help on Nuzlockes, at least for SM/USUM. I just finished Acerola's UM trial, I get the feeling it woulda been much harder if it wasn't for me leading with Crobat, Hazing then Cross Poisoning until the inevitable Banette Will-o-wisp spam and damage knocked her to red range, then switched to Tentacruel and Acid spray+brined the fakeachu down.
In that same run I have a Sandygast, I use him because my team was very susceptible to electric attacks (my only game over this far came from the Electric trial). I don't know how to evolve him, in case it requires trading or something I can't be arsed with I keep an Eviolite on him. It works surprisingly well, actually.
