its battle system and mechanics are arguably the best of the entire JRPG space
and the way the adventure was set up prior to Gen V was a good balance of story-driven and player-driven, with plots that don't get in the way or bore you, and plenty of places to explore
I never cared about trading or catching them all
anyone who claims it's just nostalgia are just contrarians who aren't worth listening to
