I feel like these traits in general seem more prevalent in gen 1 than any other trait.
Design wise, a good number of Pokemon in gen 1 are a lot more ambiguous and fictional; there's definitely less Pokemon based on specific things as opposed to Pokemon that are just made-up creatures than there are in later generations.
I actually kinda miss this; Pokemon that are more conceptual than specific, you know? Guys like Abra, Slowpoke, Chansey, Snorlax, Shuckle, Magmar, Electivire, Exploud, Aromatisse, etc. I mean, I love when Pokemon gets super specific, but I DO miss the "kind of like this animal but not really" Pokemon.
