>>20296457Togepi & Togetic (sorry guys, not a Togekiss fan) are great in how they were designed around game mechanics. Togepi is the first egg that you're given in the franchise, & when it hatches you get this Pokemon which is only half out of its shell. The bits of broken eggshell a constant reminder of its fragility, you level it carefully & pamper it when you first meet the haircut brothers & the like.
Then this - already incredibly happy - baby gets so happy that it actually evolves. It looks more grown up - although that smile isn't gone from its face - & its body has become more streamlines although there's still a form of 'baby fat' in its ovoid torso. The fact that the ovoid is very reminiscent of an egg & has the same patter on as Togepi's shell is yet more of a reminder about the new mechanic.
