Their worst drama naturally happened while they were dumb teenagers who didn't even know if they were in a relationship yet. Assuming they mature, they're not going to have fallouts that bad as married adults (and ORAS ended with the implication they're kind of married now)
Their worst conflicts always involve Sapphire flipping out over Ruby doing stupid shit but not the reverse. So as long as Ruby doesn't do stupid shit and keeps her happy they'll be fine.
