>>36784800>>36785271Thanks anon. Had our first wipe to the fossil nerd in Mt Moon. Thought I had potions in bag, but I used them earlier. Left Mt Moon for Cerulean and went straight for the gym at level 19. The two trainers were a bit of a drag as Noop's only effective move was tackle. After the second trainer we hit 20 - an important road mark.
At 20 Castform learns Rain Dance, Hail, and Sunny Day. He learns Weather Ball at 30, but no other moves for the rest of the game (outside of tutors/TMs). I thought about this a lot as I was finishing up Mt Moon; I've never used Castform so I thought about using all three weathers + weather ball, but that seems bland and uninspired. Then I thought about making a stall moveset with rest/toxic/hail/whatever, but that sounds way too slugish.
So I settled on a sort of mixed sweeper setup. I'll take weather ball and rain dance, because I want to use at least one form change. I'll also pick up thunder, as it synergizes with the rain dance. For the final move I'm probably going to pick up the shadow ball TM for coverage over Psychic and Dragon. This will give me two physical attacks (weather ball normal + shadow ball) and two special attacks (weather ball water + thunder) in addition to my form change.
Anyways, back to the gym -- Misty was pretty hard. Between her super potions, hardens, and confusions, poor little Noop struggled to keep up. After I died to her I went off to stock up on my own potions. I was finally able to beat her on only my
3rd try, stalling with potions until I landed lucky crits.
