Darks are immune because they're "cut out" from the mental network most creatures have, and thus unreadable to psychics. They're Dark, if you would. Because they're a hole in the system, psychic particles similarly slide off them, preventing telekinetic attacks.
Bugs have foreign mental patterns, like the brains of irl bugs are very different from those of mammals. Trying to interpret what they're thinking fucks up Psychics, and they're exposed to this whenever a "bug type" elemental attack hits them.
Ghosts are a mix of Dark and Bug, an abbherration with thought patterns too alien to understand. They crave too strongly, or suffer too brightly, so trying to access their brain fucks up Psychics.
Steels are just dense motherfuckers, literally. High mental defenses and high physical defenses means they're hard to manipulate, brain or body.
