Probably gen 2. Gives the second (next to gen 5) shittiest set of starters, even thought I like Feraligatr, Typhlosion, Meganium, but the other starters are so much better. The Pokemon are lame, even thought there are some that are really cool, like Scizor, Umbreon, Espeon, Pinsir, Heracross, Tyranitar, Skarmory. Johto was pretty bland. It felt like it was just overshadiwed by it's big bro gen 1. Besides this, SoulSilver the first Pokemon game I have played has a special place in my heart.

Scizor, it's also my third favorite Pokemon overall

It didn't at least have that forgettable gym leaders. Everyone remembers Whitney. Personally Jasmine is my favorite gym leader. It also added my favorite type: Steel. It also added the very cool mons that I have listed before. It had my favorite champion theme and the battle against Red was really nice and one of my favorite battles.
