Worked in a circus as the caretaker of a dancing bear(Berratel)give it sword dance or something. One night a fire broke out. Berratel smelled it and saved his master. The rest of the people perished in the fire though, so now the caretaker took upon himself the jobs and pokemon of the others.
After years he's mastered it all and keeps the circus going single-handedly.
Twist:Berratel set the fire so he could move up in the circus world. He's now the world's strongest man/bear.
