That's a good question. Journeys went all in on the references and returning characters. Why did they decide Surge wasn't worth revisiting? It's not like he was a nobody, his episode was a pretty pivotal moment in the series.

I was thinking about how it would be harder to screw up a BW remake because the games generally are kind of lacking when it comes to side stuff. Then I remember that was because the side stuff was on the Dream World.
So how is that going to work? Will they incorporate the Dream World into the game itself? Will they make it a separate app? Will they scrap it altogether?

This raises a big question. It's been established that a Pokemon isn't trapped inside a ball, even after caught they pop out anytime.
The anime in particular has referenced this many times, mainly with for comidy relief Jessie's Wobbuffet or Misty's Psyduck.
But can a Pokemon freely leave a Master Ball? Is it it the one truly unethical Pokeball? It would certainly explain why it's never mass produced.

I always assumed Pokemon had some naturally powerful healing. The berries and drinks and whatever don't actually have any medical properties, for humans anyway, they just stimulate their powerful healing. Likewise the center machines just accelerate the healing process and probably aren't even that miraculously advanced. Probably relatively cheap to manage.
Remember that a Pokemon having 0 HP doesn't mean they're badly injured, the games just say they're tired. The centers are only meant for scrapes and bruises at worst. Alder's first Volcarona supposedly died from an incurable illness. Even in the anime it's shown the machines are limited and actual severe injuries take proper care and treatment.

It's interesting how we can now match the models with the artwork and see all the little inconsistencies.
Venusaur is definitely one of the worst offenders, the model can barely even match the pose.
