A good chunk of that guy's art is just cool/funny concepts in this sort of dark-themed PMD world, and I like it. There's actually not even that much gore.
I don't judge it on how close it is to the games, I judge it on how good it is. I don't read much fanfiction but I have seen comics that did "PMD but edgy" badly, see: picrelated.
