It might be a wasteland of just tiny towns and a lot of wilderness, but take note of the latter. There's a lot more room for Pokemon species diversity in the northern half of the state, allowing plenty of room for Grass, Bug, Water, Ice, Rock, Steel, and other types of Pokemon.
