https://rentry.org/RibombeeFly4I don't like posting stories in the final third of a thread, but I don't want to procrastinate any longer. I'm bringing "Learning to Fly" out of hiatus. This chapter is ~3300 words, and sees Booker continue his quest to learn how to fly... now with help from a certain guildmate. Special thanks to Togetic-anon for reviewing the draft. Also, I made a couple tweaks to the previous chapters based on ideas I had during the hiatus, but nothing major has changed.
The previous chapters were released all the way back in April. Sorry for the delay. Since it's been so long, here's a quick recap.
>ch1: One month after becoming a Ribombee, Booker still can't fly. He's embarrassed by his flightlessness, and hides his efforts to learn how to fly. Sneasel finds out, but she's supportive.>ch2: They ask Taillow for flying advice. Sneasel leaves while Taillow gives Booker some info about how flying works, including tips about flight muscles. She offers to take him into the air so he can experience what flight feels like. He accepts and gets on her back, and they fly up above the town. Booker greatly enjoys the experience.>ch3: Taillow suggests he skydive off her back to practice gliding. She promises to catch him before he hits the ground. He's nervous but gives it a try. It goes well at first, until a gust of wind separates them. Booker almost lands in the bay, but Gus saves him, so he manages to avoid drowning. Taillow meets up with them and apologizes. Booker forgives her. They return to Sneasel and tell her what happened. She's infuriated and strangles Taillow for her failure to save Booker. Booker convinces Sneasel to spare Taillow. Booker is shaken by his near death experience but remains determined to learn how to fly.I hope you all enjoy this chapter. I promise it won't take another nine months for the next one to come out.
