6/10 here too
The 'story' had every cliché in the hollywood book of filmmaking. Evil guy does evil, random dude becomes saviour, hero sidekick almost dies, hero and sidekick part for a dumb misunderstanding, big action finale etc etc. Another problem is that the movie tries to appeal both to nostalgic adults and kids... but fails at both. The adult jokes are lame and it's not really a kids movie either.
The movie was more or less an excuse to show off as much cgi pokemon as possible. Which made the movie bearable. Seriously the cgi is really good, especially during the finale. I don't really like how they made all pokemon hairy, like jigglypuff and some others. But whatever.
The only scene that really bothered me was the retarded mr mime scene. In the fight scenes they show how the pokemon in this universe have, like in the games, 4 attacks/abilities. Then mr mime somehow has undefined mime powers? What attack is that. srs
