The games weren't popular in Brazil because the Game Boy and the cartridges were pretty expensive back then; but back in 2001, a friend of mine had a Game boy Pocket and Pokémon Blue... he let me play it, and I thought it ws the greatest shit ever. I mean, I loved RPGs with classes, and that was a RPG where you could add any enemy to your party AND promote them by evolving. I had a doting aunt that gave me expensive christmas gifts every year, so I asked a Game Boy (she bought a teal Game Boy Color) and a Pokémon game (she bought the Yellow Version), and that's about it.
