Welcome to Pokemon: Showderp. Since April of 2013, we have devoted ourselves to serious and insightful study of competitive Pokemon battling, pursuant to the following goals:
>To analyze the human condition through the aspects of the best and the worst players of competitive Pokemon battle.>To promote the correct and widespread usage of "memes", as they are popularly known, on /vp/, Pokemon Showdown!, and the wider Internet, and to engage in the development of new memes.>To design sustainable, efficient, ethical, socially acceptable, and economic methods to engage in the art of competitive Pokemon battling, and to promote its applications.Pokemon: Showderp is a non-profit organization; our work is done for free and in the public interest.
Prospective volunteer researchers are required to provide a proof of identity (a "tripcode" is usually best -- as they are sensitive information, we request that all researchers not use their tripcodes while not experimenting) and expected to show up on time. Researchers will devise a methodology and provide 6 experimental groups to test hypotheses.
Once this is done, the researcher gathers the data required to make a conclusion and further recommendations. He or she then steps down, so that another researcher may test a hypothesis as the former thesis is submitted for peer review and final publishing.
