concepts. If you die in the Pokemon world you just live on as a soul, either moving on to an unspecified
afterlife or becoming a ghost. What Yveltal does is much more absolute and doesn't have the positive
connotations of death as a natural part of the cycle of life. It simply consumes the soul,
presumably erasing it in the process and leaving behind only stone (thematically fitting, seeing how it adds nothing to nature and its biosphere like a regular corpse would). Looking at it this way, Destruction
is a more fitting counterpart to Xerneas' theme of Life than Death - which is simply a natural part of the latter - would be.
