BUT the problem with freeze as is is that its so powerful that the way pokemon's battle system works, it has to be low odds. and 10% odds is just not enough to build a team around, so it just fucks your opponent randomly in rare matches. but thats not a plan or anything you can really build around. and anyway its slowly been getting nerfed but ice types stay sucking so.
either way though, some of the best ice attack pokemon aren't even ice types anyway coz ice as a type just sucks. maybe ice types could have a higher freeze chance, but freeze as a status effect is still just so powerful idk. kind of a tricky spot as i see it.
