>>23054039>In the world of Pokémon every animal is replaced by a pokémonBut that's wrong, animals exist but we never see them since there have been efforts to retcon them out. If they didn't though, why would the pokedex compare pokémon to real animals? (ex, "Pachirisu, the elesquirrel pokémon").
Also, because more inconsistency it's implied pokémon eggs are spawned, possibly by a unspecified legendary. Mew? Arceus? Who knows. It's a lot more credible than saying mammal pokemon are laying eggs though.
