>>43735681Lavender's Pokemon Tower is what the entire town's culture wraps around, including its religious figures. As you said, there are literal Fossil Pokemon (how the fuck isn't that enough on its own they're fucking FOSSILS). There are myths about Gyarados and Dratini in lore. Hell, the entire society is wrapped around Pokemon with the only major organization being Gyms.
Surge having a "war" means nothing, Earth didn't invent war. Nor does Mew being from South America affect absolutely anything, as they were still naming the place Kanto despite clearly being a completely different setting where everything worked differently. If Mew's backstory came out it'd be exactly the same, but they'd just call South America "Souma" or something. The name means nothing, the bits of the real world that actually affect Pokemon (architecture, average urban/rural lifestyle and basic cultural trends) are all still entirely intact in places like Alola.
Farfetch'd isn't being hunted to extinction, it's just "rarely seen." The pollution is an exaggeration people make based on Grimer and Kanto's Poison Types, but the only Power Plant is abandoned and otherwise you just walk through pristine wilderness to get from town to town. And shit, if you really want to pretend people didn't know if Pokemon replaced all animals or not, just ask people how big a deal this picture is.
>Yeah, the fact that an aspect of Pokemon biology that in any other society would've been observed centuries ago being discovered very recently isn't that big of a deal and has no bearing on the plot or world even though it's the first fuckign quest and introduces the new mechanic.Even if Pokemon had only appeared one hundred years ago, eggs should have been discovered decades ago, and the game still pretends nobodies knows how they happen. Eggs being recently discovered was just a bit about how they weren't in the first game.
