I do remember the Aztec one where a couple survives a global flood by hiding in a hollowed out log, go out and make a camp fire, and tezcatlipoca cuts their heads off and sews it on their assess thus creating dogs.
On the topic of Mesoamerica, I will always love the ruins they find mew in the movie. More of that ancient mystery feel.
