>>48521003>story is shittier than gen 7In no way is it worse than Gen 7. For one, the main conflict between Ideals and Realism is actually a classic philosophical argument that dates back to Plato (Ideals) vs Aristotle (Realism). It's actually a political commentary, though it doesn't bring anything new to the table. N is probably the most interesting character in Pokemon, from a writing standpoint, even if I find him cringe. The story is told better than in Gen 7, too, since it doesn't inundate you with cutscenes before, during, and after every town.
>difficulty is shittier than gen 7Gen 7 is pathetically easy. There is one actual challenge in the entire generation, and that is Ultra-Necrozma. It's about as difficult as Ghetsis' Hydreigon due to how many tools you have available to you. My brother beat Ultra Sun with a Ledian, Drifblim, Mudsdale, and Alolan-Ninetales. Not to mention you have EXP All, meaning that your Pokemon are so horribly overleveled for anything to be challenging.
>exploration is shittier than gen 1-3 and 8None of those games have good exploration. B2/W2 has plenty of optional routes and content to explore. Being able to play 3 gyms out of order does not make them non-linear nor do they have good exploration. Not to mention the dungeons, like Reversal Mountain and Chargestone Cavern are better than any dungeons in Gen 1, 2, and definitely 8.
>QoL is shittier than gen 6-8The QoL is actually higher. EXP Share gives you more fidelity when raising your own Pokemon, you have difficulty options you can choose from (though they're locked), it let you set backpack slots in the quick-select menu, and it asked you if you wanted to reapply repels.
>online is shittier than gen 6-8Imagine playing on Game Freak's shitty online services that don't let you skip animations and you have to wait 45 seconds for Cloyster to stop using Icicle Spear before you can choose your move.
>post-game is worse than gen 3-4Worse than Platinum, sure.
