>>41251601"Do you deny the fictionally-proven cliche connections between old, decrepit, scary looking houses and the presence of ghosts?"
"W-what?" the boy stammers. "O-of course not! It's just, i-in relation to the, um, trial, and the photos, there doesn't appear to be any sign of g-"
"Can you really look me in the eye and say that house doesn't look haunted as all hell to you?"
A deathly silence falls over the court, which the producers immediately leech upon because silence and suspense go hand-in-hand. They zoom in on Mr. Calemson as he stares Allister dead in the eye, attempting to whittle away what little insignificant willpower the boy still has lef-
"O-okay! I-it does! It does look haunted!"
That was fast.
"W-what do you want from me?!" cries Allister. "Of course it looks haunted! I-if you showed me the picture without any context, I-I might even mistake it for a movie set!... Or my dream house......"
"Is that a tacit admission that the house is indeed haunted then?"
"N-no!" he blinks. "I-I said looks, LOOKS! I-it looks haunted, very haunted! But that doesn't mean that it is! You're twisting my words!"
"Can we bring Exhibit C back?" Mr. Calemson's prompt request is fulfilled by the Sliggoo. "What is this spooky, most certainly heinous creature then, if not a ghost? If you, connoisseur of creep shows, don't know then you're either lying, a fraud, or not the expert you thought you were. Which is it?"
"I swear," says Allister. "I don't know what it is! I've never seen a creature quite like that before! I-it's, it's...... It's actually, um, quite cool, to be honest.. I'd like to have one.... if only I knew what it was...."
"Interesting," Mr. Calemson paces away from the boy. "'It's actually quite cool' he says... So the expert on ghosts takes interest in a creature he's sure he's never seen before. If he's only into ghosts, why would he take interest in such an entity at all?"
"Oh, come on," says Potto Desu. "They're just reaching now."
