>>52922614The big thing I noticed in most of the routes I like is that the tall grass-to-trainer ratio has to be just right with the layout to make them satisfying to traverse. Tall grass has you plotting the fewest steps possible to cross, and trainers have you noting their sightlines and movements. You do both on the fly and don't even notice, there's a groove to it. And then ledges and other movement gimmicks can put a further spin on both obstacles.
Water routes lacking tall grass and ledges makes them much much worse than most land routes imo.
