I maintain that it was underwhelming though. The map was bland, didn't feel compelled to catch Pokemon, exploration is all but dead and it was a movie game. Not to mention an awkward balancing of characterization. It felt like an elaborate DLC.
But at the same time, I'm a fan of Pokemon games, not Pokemon as a brand and entity so of course I might be looking for something different than someone who starts threads for their favorite Pokemon. And there's nothing wrong with that.
