Sun and Moon got it right with trivial amount of exploring and only allowing trainers to have at most one Pokemon each really picked up the pace of the game. I've quit past Pokemon titles because of how needlessly grindy they are. I'm here to relax and have fun, not going on some tedious adventure. Makes me glad they removed HMs too. The less you need to prepare the better.
