Don't know if this is the place for it, but I recently finished a playthrough of Pokemon Rejuvenation and it's prequel and wanted to give my thoughts.
Quite enjoyed them overall, but man there are some absolutely fucking retarded choices behind those games. Some decent characters and storylines for them, region is interesting and gives a lot to do. 10/10 music in the game and great variety of starter/wild mons for team building. Plenty of side quests to keep you busy and a lot of lore.
As for the bad, please keep in mind it is far easier to give criticism than praise and these games do deserve their praise. For some reason the game maker apparently thinks that high encounter rate is a viable substitute for game content, so this game already being absolutely full of things to do + a very extensive storyline, the encounter rate makes it feel painful to play, especially early to mid game when you never have enough money for repels and all the areas are ludicrous in size. Felt like I was being actively punished for wanting to both play the game and just explore in general.
Throw the whimsical chance of sometimes getting a quick move to an area vs very often having to backtrack over the same, encounter rich path a thousand times, it just feels like the game was getting drawn out for no real reason other than to annoy the player. I very nearly stopped playing once or twice because it just got so infuriating, take for example when you know there is a boss fight coming up and every second mon random trainers have will either paralyze, poison or 1 shot you and the only healing area is a ten minute walk backwards through a maze forest. That's not difficulty, it's just tedious bullshit. Which brings me to another point. At times it felt like the entire region was designed to be as confusing and unintuitive as possible, which is a shame because a lot of it is really quite well designed from a visual perspective. You can tell a lot of thought had gone into it.
