Beat White. I'll take the blame on my desire to use shitmon (Audino) and not moving in with a real strategy. E4 kicked ass first time I got there, all 4 Special types and I could only barely scrape a win of either Fighting or Ghost. So I folded and I hit the grind. EV grinding more specifically, and I'm not proud of it. Maybe if I used better 'mon, had a status pivot or better coverage or synergy. Also all the Full Restore spam in the endgame sorta artificially inflates fights. (Fire is a problem.. good thing everything has Flamethrower from now on) I wasn't really in the mood for the Giests fight, sort of wanted to get the League over with. The Castle, I thought, was an extension too far already. I even like the characters and writing, but I just didn't care.
Swept on the return to E4 with little issue besides some bad play. LVL 46-49 team. N took me a few tries as well - I could OHKO the Dragon with EQ but it was feeling out the rest of the team. Cleared it in the end with Audino Thunder/Fire Blast through Archeos and Klingklang, with a Rest + SLPCURE berry to snag it.
Giests... I have no love for this fight. Just wasn't fun for my team. Everything covered with Flamethrower or Crunch. I could only open with Barriers with PSNCURE berries, needed Scoliopede to AGI Baton Pass into Reunculus and pray I could sweep Cofagrigos and Bisharp. Elektross was a wall for a while with no weakness', but if SQUEEKY could live long enough to get a Psychic off I could Return w/Audino (and Rest) then end with Scoliopede. Sacrifice Cryogen to the Hydragen then finish with Scoliopede (notice an mvp?) Switch into Golurk on Buffalant and finish with SUCC on his Siesmatoad.
Really beat my head against the wall on this. Is he actually hard? was my team exceptionally bad? Feedback would be appreciated. Intrigued about the postgame, might import my y/GSC dudes and run the E4 again, this is new for me in a Pokemon game, half a region to look into.
