This right here is the epitome of uninspired fight design but more importantly cheapens existing fights with tired rehashes of their mechanics. This doesn't necessarily need to be some elaborate autism fest of new mechanics and gimmicks in every single fight, but rolling out old mechanics with no thematic relevance when it barely changes how the fight plays makes all the older fights that used those mechanics better less special for it.
