Back when I was in middle school during the Gen III era, there were a lot of bullshit rumors I fell for.
One I remember was that you could get the Mossdeep space center's rocket to take off, and if you get on it you could go to the moon and catch Jirachi and Deoxys. In order to do that you had to beat the E4 125 times. I had dedication to go to the moon so I spent hours for weeks beating the E4 until I hit 125.
Once I realized it was all bull, I became more aware that people lied on the Internet. Still fell for some other pokemon rumors though.
