>>40072754People have always enjoyed the idea of variants, regional or otherwise. Being implemented in the actual game is great, even if the execution isn't the greatest. Gen 7's implementation was fine, they attempted to give a reason to why these pokemon would mutate in the way they have, like exeggutor thriving in a warm, sunny climate.
Gen 8 on the other hand seems to just be using it as an excuse to dig up old designs and make them "cooler" thus far. I hope this changes.
