Anyone who has anything other than unconditional praise for the game is either warned or banned. Anyone who asks about the source code is immediately banned. You don't even have to break the rules, even asking simple questions can be met with resistance from the staff or even a ban if the wind blows the wrong way.
Regarding the closed source nature of the hack, one of the better known composers in the romhacking community, Mmmmmm, asked him to remove their music from his game because he refuses to go open source.
He was basically told to fuck off by a couple of apologists (some of whom are staff members), and SS responded with "you shouldn't have made it open source then :^)" before begrudgingly agreeing to do so in the next release (assuming there is one, he likes to go on "hiatus" constantly, but feels the need to talk about his patreon whenever he shows up).
