>>50542382It really is not a direct improvement over Generation 1. Sure it added a bunch of new features, but Pokemon clearly didn't need those features to be good in the first place. The pacing of Johto is really bad, and the post game is cool conceptually, but falls super flat. HGSS made it much more engaging, but not by much. Moreover, let me remind you that Johto was rife with its own bugs.
The people who say fans that dislike Johto are "fake" fans, are the actual fake fans, because they can't respect other people's opinions. And for what? To prop up this tiny little moment from their childhood as the highest point of the franchise? How is that not just Genwunning but different? Inb4
