>>34752562Having said that, I can't deny this either. If you just want some pretty Pokemon pictures almost all of them deliver. The newer movies are hella pretty considering the brand involved.
The third is still the best 20 years on, so I can't say you're missing much.
For the later ones I liked, Deoxys' movie plays him as the silent invader and a Pokemon like any other at the same time in a city straight out of mid 2000's Sugimori concept art. Giratina's is pretty and turns Shaymin into delightful, terrified troll but, as already said, doesn't really come together. Arceus sputters to get going, reintroducing the DP dragons and explaining the plot, but once Arceus shows up its fighting and adventuring almost non-stop, and Arceus feels like a Pokemon deity should, being very vain but sacrificially generous (and even admits the whole movie is his fault in a VERY roundabout way).
