>>37406881Yeah I can appreciate that, it's tricky finding a balance between being inspired by something and worrying about straight up ripping it off haha. I do like muted and subtle too, I'm sure you can make that work great in a way you don't find predictable.
I don't normally do sugimori stuff, these are my first attempt at that. My normal pokemon art is mostly pretty rough and doodly and the shading is just an entire low opacity purple layer with holes erased for light. These threads are my attempy to start makimg decent loking pokemom art! My regular art is either monsters like this
