You decide to play things safe and simple with a Thunderbolt. You also try to play up a sneaky factor since Dedenne is so small, but Slowthulhu notices him in the middle of his rampage.

A quickly-deployed Amnesia prevents Thunderbolt from doing as much damage as you would have liked. The beast has been provoked, and a battle spins off from that.
He starts off the relentless duel with Bulldoze. Also known by its lesser-known name, "babby's first Earthquake". But despite the nickname, it's arguably effective in this situation.
