Yep, I wanted Pokemon Stadium on a handheld and that's what I got. I didn't own a DS prior to X and Y, my last handheld being a Purple GBA.
They got rid of the mind numbing IV grind and came up with some really neat designs, revamping a bunch of skills that used to be useless, and even buffed some of my favorite old Pokemon (Raichu, being one of the biggest ones).
Overall, I'm very happy, and would recommend it to a friend. The only disappointments that stick out are sky battles (huge gimmick that only really affects single player), and the fact that Heliolisk doesn't have access to any strong Special Normal moves minus Hyper Beam.
