I'm okay with a starter not being the best fighter in the game. But Samurottfelt like it was a slap to the face, jumping the gun with its design, and ending up to being mediocre in battle.
Then again, the Gen 5 starters were in general subpar, with only Emboar being redeemable. Serperior and Emboar could have been so much better if their HA were ever released.
Maybe I'm just bitter because I loved all the starters from Gens 3 and 4, and Gen 5 was the first generation I started to dislike pokemon because of their designs.
