I think we all know that if we took Armorshipping to its logical conclusion, it'd be Serena cucking Ash, not the other way around. Considering how flimsy a foundation she has for her romantic interests, it's only natural to assume she'd get wooed by some other trainer (or their Pokemon; she IS French) the moment Ash is away for a touch too long. That's the blessing of having a cast that doesn't age; we don't have to watch Serena grow into such a loose-legged little lady. Instead, we can hold onto fond memories of our girl gazing from afar, with equal amounts disappointment and reverence, at our hero setting off on yet another journey.
