I've been playing Pokemon casually since its release back in the day and although I've occasionally bothered to EV train my Pokemon, I never really went the extra mile to breed for a particular characteristic or IVs.
However, I have no decided to make an attempt at upping my game now that X and Y is on its way and I want to take up online battling.
My question is, how long does it usually take for you to breed the perfect Pokemon? I am currently breeding Poliwag and have managed to get a modest and mischievous one with 31 IVs in SpAtk and 28 in Speed. The rest of the IVs are pretty low, but how much should I concern myself with other IVs that aren't as important?
