This coming from someone who spent tons of hours trying to get dittos that had 2 perfect IVs back in 4th gen. Having a wide variety of both hidden ability pokemon and dittos, both with guaranteed 2 IVs being all but HANDED to you now does make it a hell of a lot easier to start with. The destiny knot upgrade, along with mothers passing down abilities frequently and egg moves even... The time it takes and the difficulty of getting a proper 5x IV pokemon is far far far less now.
But yeah, it's easier to bitch and not put forth the much reduced effort to get a perfect pokemon, you're right anon.
