It was quite the fun time. Poseidon has been great, and I got Gyro on the first route over a Bidoof - a welcome relief since my rival took Turtwig. I met Xander on the next route and was thrilled that it had intimidate - in my mind, that meant this run had just become much more safe, with two monsters that would have Intimidate able to debuff foes.
However, I was pretty cocky and very nearly was killed due to critical hits from nearly half the trainers I played against. All but one trainer on the second route rolled a critical hit, one of the trainer kids in the school rolled a critical hit, and my rival Flapjak got a critical hit. Xander is also currently super weak in a fight, and my team was very nearly brought to ruin after Turtwig started withdrawing.
I'm probably going to play a ton tonight so hopefully I will be successful with my first badge attempt, and manage to reach that Drifloon at the windworks before the day is done. Here's hoping I keep getting lucky with no type overlap (and also what are people's thoughts on using the GBA carts for adding other encounter potentials?).
