>>48829620>Final BrendanLast 'hard' pre-E4 fight. His team - Tyrantrum, A-Marowak, Exploud, Landorus-Incarnate, Empoleon, Mega Sceptile. When the battle starts, a 'swamp effect' quarters the speed of all of your Pokemon, not his. Stupid.
Donphan Bonemerangs through Tyrantrum's Sash, swap to Assault Vest Spiritomb on Exploud to beat it down leading into Empoleon who gets murked by Lanturn. He sends in his Life Orbed Sheer Force Landorus here, thought I'd need to make a sack around this thing, but I can pivot through Gyarados to safely get in Slowbro to kill. From there, Mega Scep gets shut down by Galarian Weezing and A-Wak by Mega Gyarados.
Now, for Victory Road. Every single Ace Trainer fight here is mandatory and a boss-level fight. Play-by-playing all of it would be exhausting, so:
>NaomiShe leads Ambipom. I start Intimidate Spiritomb to burn it then Parting Shot as she swaps into something, which allows me to safely pivot in counters to every single one of her mons.
>RolandSlowbro took down about half of his team and Choice Band Rampardos Accelerocking did in the second half.
>>48830700I suppose so. I'll consider it next run I do!
>>48831273That's really a fucking shame. Did you at least win on the second try through?
>>48831798Well, why not try 7 again then? Unless you're burned out of Alola, in which case I'd say 5.
>>48832266Well, a few things. One, EVs and IVs don't exist in this game mode. Two, I play with a patch that automatically gives me every wild-farmable items available upon beating certain bosses/999 Rare Candies to make any kind of grinding completely trivial. So all I have to do is strategize.
It definitely feels a lot more satisfying than you'd think, to take on these ridiculous boss fights and come out relatively unscathed because of good planning. Still, yeah, it does get a bit much at times - the Silph Co section and E4 are pretty painful no matter what.
>>48832556Having fun is more important than trying to be badass, good job anon
