If you really think any good scientist would see something once and proclaim "THIS IS A FACT!" you clearly are lacking in intelligence and understanding.
Now it's a given that modern pokeballs work better than ones from the past because they're assisted with technology, but that's only to help trigger the survival instinct in a pokemon to make them shrink.
