But both games vanilla have horrible combat, at least the others had variety in spell casting which adds a lot of depth to the way you want to play, and shiiiit it had you actually do shit to get the spells (even more for the custom ones, again its fun) rather than buy books, read, bam, now you can do the same spell with more damage.
