Of all the villains, I think Lysandre had probably the greatest motivation. Aesthetic is the best possible quality to judge something or someone on, because it's always objective in what it reveals. It's possible for a morality or a belief system to be twisted and evil even if it SOUNDS logical and humane. It's very hard to judge abstract things like that because results can be so different than desired outcome. But something that is beautiful is ALWAYS beautiful, and something that is ugly is ALWAYS ugly.
I'll try to give an example of this. Imagine you see someone who is ugly, smelly, obese, has Zelda and Harry Potter tattoos, doesn't dress well, and is overall unkempt going on a rant about how we have to change society to get better, how everything is so unfair and oppressive. You can find these people all over Youtube and social media, giving long political diatribes in their mom's basements. If your belief system doesn't elevate you to a higher level of existence, and motivate you to become beautiful and healthy and strong, then everything you believe MUST therefore be evil and wrong. When you are ugly, all of your beliefs are the result of your resentment of the beautiful, the healthy, the well turned out, and the normal - and nothing good can be born from resentment.
Therefore, the destruction of everything that is ugly would be the destruction of everything that is evil.
